Born and raised in Iran in the city of Tabriz, known as the rug capital of the world, David was introduced to the art of rug weaving as a young boy when his father commissioned a rug for their home.  He fondly remembers his uncle would regularly take him to the Bazaar to check on the progress of the rug, which would take months to complete.   David watched with fascination as the weavers would hand spin the wool and silks, dye the yarns in beautiful rich colors, and then make beautiful artisan designs as they intricately hand-tied the knots one at a time.  This experience as a young boy instilled a love for the art that has remained with him throughout his life.    

David moved to the States in the early 70s to get his education and decided to make Little Rock his new home.  It wasn’t long before friends, familiar with his background, were asking him if he could help them acquire the beautiful Persian rugs made in his homeland.  As the word spread, David recognized the need for a rug store in Little Rock and founded Hadidi Rug Gallery. Today David continues to proudly serve the customers and interior designers of Arkansas, offering personalized service and years of knowledge about the centuries-old art of hand-woven floor art.
